I have stumbled across Roxana’s work for some time now, mostly in incidents where I see an assorted selection of images through projects such as Blink and the exhibition Seedless with WB. But it’s not until these past few days where I have been researching a lot of photographers that I have taken the time to really look at some of her pictures that form a concise body of work. It’s fair to say that I was stunned by her delicate new series Through A Gilded Stomach, it struck a chord with the reason I am interested in photography and why I have ever made pictures myself. It’s hard to put this into words, as the words below speak exquisitely for themselves. But her images that form this series offer a sentiment towards a broader theory, and that is movingly delicate and beautiful.
