#BPF / Anna Jay – Iron, Gold, Thorns & Flowers

Working on the Open ’11 amongst many other projects is very exciting, but often I let my own practice take a back seat! This week I wanted to share with you some of my most recent personal work. My process of making work is to photograph over a long period of time, before entering a stage of detachment where this work is left to rest. I can then begin to approach the work again with fresh editing eyes. This is the first time I have put together a selection of work from this series online, so it’s exciting to make some experiments and see how it’s progressing.

This project investigates the points of significance between people, that weave and wind together to create a wreath of iron, gold, thorns & flowers that would not have bound us, but for the formation of everything in-between.
