#BPF / Preston is my Paris – Starting Points

For me one of the most innovative parts of the Brighton Photo Fringe is the library.  Each exhibiting artist was asked to provide a selection of texts that have helped to inform and influence their practice, some of which are then available for visitors to the exhibition to spend time engaging with.

For those of you that can’t get to Brighton, here’s some that have particularly inspired us:

Charles Baudelaire – The Painter of Modern Life

Georges Perec – Species of Spaces and Other Pieces

Ben Higmore – Everyday Life and Cultural Theory

Michael Sheringham – Everyday Life: Theories and Practices from Surrealism to the Present
